Maria is responsible for Para-Plus’ translation department oversight and management. With over 25 years of hands-on experience in the language service and communications industry, Maria is a results-oriented administrator, possessing strong leadership skills and has personally project-managed and overseen multi-lingual and multi-document translation projects for public, private and non-profit clients for over 11 years.

Maria leads the translations department team and the department’s day to day operations. With the support of vendor and project managers, Maria ensures that only the most qualified translation vendors are vetted and available for translation service. In addition, Maria assists in the negotiation of vendor contracted rates to guarantee that the best value criteria is applied to translation work pricing, thereby offering the most competitive translation rates available to Para-Plus language service clients. Maria assists in establishing and regularly reviews company objectives, she helps develop and implement strategies to align Para-Plus with overall company goals, and ensures that Para-Plus’ translation service policies and procedures are followed for the efficient, accurate and timely delivery of all translation projects.  

Fluent in English and Spanish, Maria is an experienced and qualified legal Spanish interpreter within the states of Florida, New Jersey and the Pennsylvania Court Systems. She is an accomplished professional with a background in business, law and law enforcement. Maria holds a Juris Doctor in Law.

Maria’s legal experience includes legal work with the prestigious firm of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, and Anthony LaValle Law Offices in Syracuse N.Y. She Received a Juris Doctor in Law from Syracuse University School of Law and holds a B.A. in Criminology from the University of Florida. Other professional experience include work as a police officer with the Gainesville Police Department, in Florida and work as a University Judicial Advisor and Anger Management Group Coordinator with Syracuse University.

She enjoys traveling, salsa dancing and target shooting.
